It’s official: FuboTV is ending the starter bundle for new customers, while current customers will still be able to keep their subscriptions. Thankfully, FuboTV still offers great plans you can choose from.

What’s up with FuboTV’s Starter Bundle?

FuboTV has decided to stop offering the starter bundle to new customers. The move comes as the company is revamping its plans, offering more cloud DVR storage space and more simultaneous streams.

FuboTV claims that over time it has been observed that customers make maximum use of the DVR, which means that the 250 hours of cloud DVR space offered by the former Starter plan was no longer up to the customers’ needs. Hence, the new plans give more value to the consumers.

Why is the Starter plan shutting down?

The Starter plan was around for several years, offering 118 channels, three simultaneous streams, and 250 hours of cloud DVR storage for $64.99/month.

The company claims that it has always been FuboTV’s mission to offer a flagship package of premium sports, news, entertainment and innovative product features while providing value for consumers and keeping costs down.

The most notable of the significant upgrades that FuboTV has made to its platform. The Pro plan has the same channel setup as the prior Starter bundle, but costs $69.99/month. However, you can stream on up to 10 devices simultaneously instead of three screens.

Plus, instead of being able to record up to 250 hours of content, you can now record up to 1,000 hours. So, with a better plan available for just $5 more, there’s no reason for the company to have a starter plan anymore.

What’s up with current FuboTV Starter subscribers?

While new customers will no longer be able to select FuboTV Starter at the time of sign-up, existing customers can keep their plan. In fact, if you have opted for the starter plan before March 14, 2022, there will be no change. Of course, given the key benefits of other plans, some users may be more interested in upgrading.

According to the FuboTV Help Center, people whose previous subscription to the Starter plan has expired will be asked to choose a new plan when reactivating their accounts.

At the same time, those who have stopped their starter plan and want to return can do so. Plus, customers who have scheduled a cancellation can change their mind if the plan hasn’t ended yet.

FuboTV Starter Plan Options

When the Starter plan expires, you can choose one of the other plans—Pro, Elite, or Latino. Of course, you can customize these however you see fit, as FuboTV has plenty of options that you can test out for yourself.

Over the past few years, the company has been working on shrinking its bundles, setting just a few that are exactly what users are looking for.

The two English-language bundles now have a lot of channels, including a lot of sports-related networks, but they also include a lot of family-oriented networks to attract more subscribers. Likewise, the Latino bundle includes all Spanish language channels available on the service, from sports to entertainment.

The FuboTV Pro plan costs $69.99/month and offers 116 channels, 10 simultaneous streams, and 1,000 hours of cloud DVR storage space. Similarly, FuboTV Elite costs $79.99/month for 173 channels, 10 simultaneous streams, and 1,000 hours of cloud DVR storage space. For the price hike, you get over 50 additional channels compared to the Pro tier.

The Latino plan, which is one of the best ways to stream Spanish TV channels, costs $32.99/month for 43 channels, 250 hours of cloud DVR space, and two streams simultaneously.

FuboTV’s Starter Plan is no more

FuboTV’s starter plan for new users is now a thing of the past, though existing subscribers can keep the plan as long as they don’t want to upgrade. For $5 more, they’ll get tons of cloud DVR storage space and more streams at once for the whole family.
